New post, new blog, new adventures…

So, I’ve joined forces with one of my dearest friends and I talk about it on our brand-new, shiny site and blog.  I also talk about beginning, the power of saying yes, and taking actions toward your dreams.

I’m not saying goodbye to this space, though.  In fact, this is sort of new beginning for this space, too.  I’m also saying yes to my writing.  After about a year away from it, I’ve started writing again.  Right now, my goal for January is to write 750 words a day on pretty much whatever I want.  Most days I do pretty well.

It’s a small goal, but it’s also manageable.  And I’m just trying to exercise the writing muscle again.  It’s atrophied.  A little more warm-up time, though, and I’ll be ready for some heavy-lifting.

So, if you feel like it, pop over to our new blog and check it out, leave a comment, say hello.  And I’ll just send some love and gratitude out from Denver.

  1. Yeah for Julia Cameron. Are you doing it on 750 Words? I was doing that but decided I could just as easily to in on a blank page of my own. I can’t write anymore because of arthritis and it broke my heart to give up my pens and notebooks. I have over 50 notebooks around the house that contain my most private thoughts over the last 12 yrs and I just don’t have the room for them. So the computer and word counter it is.
Congratulations for writing again. I was wondering where you went to.

Hey Maureen! It’s so nice to see you here! Yeah, I’ve been away so long, I was wondering if all my followers left me. :)

But, I’m excited to be back. I started doing my daily word count on the 750 site, but basically came to the same conclusion you did. Now, I write in OneNote and that has the benefit of NOT being online, which was just too tempting to me to veer off and check emails or read other blogs or something.

And 50 notebooks! Yeah, there is just something special about the paper and pen, isn’t there? But, for speed and space, the computer usually wins out. :)

  3. Hey, Diane!

I’m glad to hear you’re writing again! “Flexing those muscles” is really what it’s all about.

I’ve noticed that a lot of writers go for a minimum word count. Am I unique? I go for an amount of time per day that I put in, and the number of words be damned! I’m curious if anyone else does it that way! For me, it takes the pressure off. I will tell myself to speed up my writing if something isn’t flowing, and that generally jump starts me.

Anyway, I thought I’d stop by, introduce myself, and I hope to get to know everyone here.

    Best Wishes,

    Peter
